Clothes With No Commitment? Yes, please!

Do you have commitment issues? Wouldn’t you love something like Netflix but for clothes?

If you answered yes to the questions above, then I have some news for you! Recently, I ran across a website that acknowledges the fact that I buy clothes, maybe wear them once or twice and then they disappear to the back of my closet….FOREVER!! My favorite thing about this site is that I can get cute clothes, take amazing pictures, send them back, and guess what they do…. SEND ME MORE CLOTHES!!!!

Cue the choir and release the doves, I have made it to heaven!!

This site has clothes from some of the top brands that I love like, Asos Curve, Mynt 1792, and so much more! Here are a few of my faves that are already in my cyber closet waiting to make it to my actual closet!

And the skirt below, I actually bought the matching peplum top for New Years 2013. Guess how many times I wore it........ ONCE! That doesn't mean that I wasn't in love with it, just like I still am, but certain events call for certain outfits and I haven't found anywhere else to wear it. And I know I'm not the only person! Check out Gwynnie Bee for more looks!! (And don't forget to tell them Sharita Conley sent you!)

The Quest For The Perfect Holiday Dress. (Part 1)

Tis the season to go Shopping… fa, la, la, la, la, lalala, LA!

Thanksgiving hasn't even passed but since we have reached the second half of November, my mind has been all over my employer's upcoming Holiday Party. Last year, I waited until the last minute (no surprise there) and got a dress from JC Penney. Not to say that it was a bad thing, but this year my goal is to start shopping now and drop jaws later. My default has always been to go to the mall because A) I wait until the last minute and B) I didn’t know I had so many options. Being plus (+) size used to equal less (-) options for clothes, but that’s not necessarily the case anymore!

(Last Years Dress from JC Penney)

After much digging and searching I have come across some great online stores! They all offer some of the hottest trends, great quality and best of all THEY FIT. I figured there are many more women that still feel the same way I did last year, so here are a few online shops I have found on my
Quest for the Perfect (and jaw dropping) Holiday Dress!

Ashley Stewart has been one of my fave's for quite some time now! They have always served style at great prices. I suggest you check out there Holiday collection... I LOVE IT!!

Z by Zevarra is one of my newest discoveries! They have some amazing dresses that I am strongly considering but I didn't think they'd all fit in this post!! But this skirt outfit is HOTT! Not only could I wear this at the Holiday Party but I can dress this up or down and wear it many different ways! Versatility, I can dig that!

Oooh Oooh Kill'em!! Ok, so this dress right here has caught my eye!! Maybe not corporate Holiday Party appropriate, but the Holiday AFTER PARTY WORTHY!!

Sequence, and Peplum and a Jumpsuit, OH MY!! I know this is not a Holiday Party dress at all but you know what....some rules are meant to be broken!

I still have a lot of searching to do but one of these here may be the one!! Let me know what you think about them and if you find something post it to your Instagram and use the hashtag #The907Strut. Until I actually make a decision and get the dress (or jumpsuit) in my hands the search continues!! Be on the lookout for The Quest For The Perfect Holiday Dress Part 2!

Long Weave, BEST BELIEVE!!

I grew up as a shop kid. A hair shop to be more specific. I've seen so many different styles and have interacted with many different people because of that upbringing. That's where a lot of my inspiration as far as creativity came from. Therefore, it only seemed fitting to have this post about my love of WEAVE!

From experience, I have tried many different styles and they have been installed various ways. Clip-ins, half weave, glue in but my overall favorite is a sew in.

The luxury of extensions is that you can dye it and not damage your own hair. And today, that's exactly what I did.

All summer I wanted to go ombre but bright blonde was not in the forecast. Now that it's winter, a darker ombre seemed fitting. I told my hairdresser my vision and.....
I LOVE IT!!! OH HOW I WISH I COULD HUG THE PERSON WHO INVENTED WEAVES!!!!
For more information about the hairdressers that installed the weave and the hairdresser who dyed it, feel free to contact me!

Fashion From an Alaskan?

“The first step toward success is taken when you refuse to be a captive of the environment in which you first find yourself.”-Mark Caine.
My name is Sharita L Conley and
I just so happen to find myself in Anchorage, Alaska, actually, this is where I’ve always been. When most people think of Alaska they think of fishing, igloos, “The Deadliest Catch”, living in a winter wonderland, etcetera, etcetera. But I am far from the typical Alaskan. I don’t do the wilderness, I don’t have the patience for fishing, and winter is FAR from my favorite season.  Not to badger this place I call home but being “one with the earth” is not really my thing. What is my thing, you’re probably wondering. My thing is fashion. Every last ounce of it, I love fashion. Growing up I have found it quite difficult to have a “thing” such as fashion here in Anchorage. One reason is because we are considered “America’s least stylish city” and the other is that I just so happen to be <fill in the blank with a word that means fat>. (You can choose from such words as; big boned, plump, plus size, large, full figured, thick, or you can call me husky (whatever that means). But you get it, it’s hard to be fashionable when there aren’t many places to shop and when you do find a place to shop, have fun looking for my size….

Since then, things have changed. I have evolved and so has the fashion industry. This is where The 907 Strut comes in. This is not your ordinary fashion blog; in fact, this will be MORE than a fashion blog. I plan to bring you the latest trends from local and online boutiques, tutorials from makeup artists, connect you with the BEST hairstylist, try to live a healthier lifestyle and at the same time live in Alaska and try some “Alaskan things”. Why? Because this is what I’m supposed to do. “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” So that’s what I’m doing, shining and whatnot. Just sprinkling the world with glitter and sunshine; bedazzling life one step at a time. This is my journey from where I am now to where I am supposed to be. Join me as I dress up like I have somewhere to go, eat like calories are cool points, and chit chat about what life has to offer. I’m bringing you FASHION FROM ALASKANS and much more! I’d like to welcome you to The 907 Strut
